Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help create a secure and welcoming shopping environment while delivering outstanding customer service.

You will monitor entrances, perform bag checks as required, report theft incidents to the Manager on Duty, and assist in shortening loss through trained programs. Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays may apply; base pay starts at $13 per hour.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends; strong communication skills.
• Leadership skills to support fostering productive relationships with customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances and high‑risk areas to deter theft and ensure safety.
• Identify and report theft incidents to the Manager on Duty when observed.
• Provide a confident, friendly greeting to customers and maintain a secure environment.
• Assist in training associates on shortage reduction programs and processes.
