Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. You will monitor entrances, exits, and high-risk areas, greet customers with energy, and collaborate with store leadership to reduce theft opportunities.

The role emphasizes knowledge of shortage reduction programs, effective communication with the Manager on Duty, and a commitment to safety, teamwork, and positive customer interactions.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends.
• Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making.
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers.
• Excellent leadership skills that support fostering productive business relationships.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance at all times and greet customers with a warm, loud, friendly greeting.
• Stand at the front of the store and stay vigilant and aware of surroundings.
• Create a secure environment and reduce opportunities for theft.
• Identify and report theft incidents and suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty.
• Provide training support on shortage reduction programs to associates.
• Model safety as a priority and address unsafe practices promptly.
