Job summary

Kimpton The Forum - Birch & Bloom in Charlottesville is seeking an experienced Front Office Supervisor to lead guest services and Front Office operations in a boutique hotel setting.

You will supervise the team, schedule staff, train front desk associates, and ensure high levels of guest satisfaction, while coordinating with management and ensuring budgeted expenses and proper cash handling.

Qualifications

• 1 year of supervisory experience in hospitality or similar industry.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people with integrity.
• Ability to verbally communicate effectively and professionally.
• Experience using Opera and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Flexible schedule, evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all duties performed by the team.
• Create and post all employee schedules in a timely manner.
• Coach, counsel, and discipline employees with proper documentation and techniques.
• Ensure all employees are posted at their stations on time and complete duties before departure.
• Assist with sick calls or tardiness by finding coverage and staying until coverage is found (including night audit shifts).
• Train and monitor service levels provided by employees to guests and other staff.
• Meet or exceed service levels required by the Mystery Shopper Survey.
• Maintain all operational supplies and ensure expenses and labor costs meet budgeted requirements.
• Ensure all employees follow cash and credit handling procedures.
• Accountable for the guest ledger and its proper daily maintenance.
