Description

Principle Responsibilities & Position Purpose:

To provide efficient and courteous service to each customer and maximize room revenues by directing and coordinating the day-to-day operation of the Front Office, including personnel, budget performance, and financial controls in accordance with the company and brand standards. Understands and implements the mission statement, values, and culture at all times.

Pre-Requisites (Requirements)
  • 1+ years of experience in supervising at least three associates at a branded, quality hotel preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • At least two years experience in the hotel industry preferred
  • Experience in accounting is preferred
  • Must display professionalism, honesty, and trustworthiness
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Knowledge in Housekeeping and Food & Beverage operations is preferred
Work Environment & Context
  • Must be able to perform major life activities: standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating.
  • Must be able to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, and reach
  • Long hours sometimes required, including holidays, weekends, and evenings
  • Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds and lift or carry 30 pounds
  • Follow approved laundry procedures; ensure understanding of washers and dryers; assist with linen folding
Requirements

Knowledgeable in:

  • Supervisory skills: interviewing, hiring, training, appraising, documenting, motivating
  • Property operations, staff services, room types, rates, and discounts
  • Safety and security measures
  • Phone etiquette and inquiry handling for shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions

Skills:

  • Training and developing associates
  • Monitoring and documenting performance
  • Maintaining supplies and organization
  • Computer literacy in property management systems

Abilities:

  • Multitasking, detail-oriented, service-centric
  • Effective communication with guests, staff, and management
  • Marketing and promoting the property
  • Handling guest issues professionally
Additional Info

Essential functions include hiring, training, coaching, administrative duties, budget management, safety, guest service, comment card analysis, policy adherence, certification maintenance, communication, and other duties as assigned.

Positions for future advancement include developing and training replacements, with potential promotion to AGM or General Manager.
