Job summary

The HEI Internship Program offers a 10–12 week fast track development for college students to expand their knowledge in the hospitality industry. The Intern will shadow front office leaders, attend operational meetings and work with front office associates and leadership to support daily operations.

Recent or current graduates of a hospitality program are encouraged to apply. You will gain hands-on experience with the PMS, labor tools, and customer service in a dynamic hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Recent or current graduate of a hospitality program preferred.
• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, with tact and diplomacy to resolve conflicts.
• Ability to stand and move throughout front office and perform essential functions.
• Ability to access and input information using a moderately complex computer system.
• Ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences, including supervisors and customers.

Responsibilities

• Shadow identified leaders within the Front Office department at the hotel.
• Shadow each shift and each position within the Front Office at the hotel.
• Consistently attend department meetings within the Front Office and leadership meetings.
• Become proficient with operating the PMS and other Front Office systems.
• Utilize labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs.
• Interact positively with customers and resolve problems to maintain satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and hotel policies.
• Adhere to attendance rules and be available regularly.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
