Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure, welcoming store environment while delivering excellent customer service. The role focuses on preventing theft, engaging with customers and associates, and upholding safety standards throughout the shift at the Spartanburg location.

Responsibilities include monitoring entrances, greeting customers with a warm, confident presence, reporting incidents promptly, and training others on shortage reduction programs.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and visually monitor the store.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the entrance for the entire duration of each shift.
• Greet every customer entering or exiting with a warm smile and energetic greeting.
• Identify and report theft incidents and/or suspicious subjects to the Manager on Duty.
• Assist in training associates on shortage reduction programs.
• Partner with store and field leadership to reduce opportunities for theft.
• Create a secure environment and maintain safety and security standards.
• Perform bag and package checks on store and corporate associates.
