Job summary

Locally Grown Restaurants in Anchorage is seeking a Front of House Supervisor to lead the team, keep service running smoothly, and ensure every guest leaves with a smile. You will work with Front and Back of House to create a welcoming atmosphere, uphold standards, train staff, and step in when the Front of House Manager is away.

This role requires hands-on leadership and a commitment to guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to communicate, write, and understand English.
• Must be able to work, standing and walking, in a fast-paced environment for up to 9 hours.
• Must have a current Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card.
• Physical requirements: stand for extended periods, may stoop, kneel, or crouch; frequently lift up to 40 pounds; occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds; vision requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hiring, interviews, reference checks, and new-hire paperwork and orientation.
• Train new and current Front of House staff.
• Monitor dining room cleanliness, guest interactions, food quality, music, and service standards.
• Support daily service by greeting guests, running food, bussing tables, and closing checks as needed.
• Ensure food allergies and dietary restrictions are handled safely.
• Complete opening and closing duties and document shift issues.
• Communicate with management, resolve issues, and support staff coaching and discipline.
• Control labor costs and assist with staff scheduling.
• Ensure compliance with restaurant policies, procedures, and systems.
• Oversee completion of daily and weekly side work.
• Step in to perform any Front of House role as needed.
