Common Bond Cafe - Montrose in Houston is seeking a Front of House Supervisor to lead the front-of-house team in a fast-paced bakery-cafe setting. The role collaborates with the General Manager to ensure guest satisfaction, training, and smooth daily operations.

The ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma, be capable of managing shifts, and maintain top quality customer service and product presentation while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn quickly.
• A food handler’s and TABC certification where required by local and state health code regulations.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greeting customers with a smile and happy demeanor; engage with and understand our customers, including identifying and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication.
• Maintain complete knowledge of baked goods and the menu.
• Supervise the front-of-house while upholding our standards of excellence and hospitality.
• Ensure positive guest service in all areas and address complaints to turn guests into return guests.
• Inform the General Manager of any foreseeable shortages before items run out.
• Enforce sanitary practices for food handling and cleanliness per standards and laws.
• Ensure consistent high quality service.
• Maintain professional restaurant image and appearance standards.
• Develop employees by providing feedback and setting expectations.
• Take orders and pack all retail items and bread orders carefully.
• Deliver food and drinks to customers promptly.
• Rotate stock using FIFO.
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
• Work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays.
• Meet store policies and standards including quality beverages/food and cash handling.
• Prepare and package food/beverages to high-quality standards.
