Job summary

Common Bond Cafe in Houston seeks a Front-of-House Supervisor to work closely with the General Manager, overseeing daily guest service and staff performance in a fast-paced environment.

You will ensure hospitality standards, train team members, manage shortages, and maintain a clean, safe dining area while upholding company policies and quality food/beverage service.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting customers with a smile and happy demeanor; engage with and understand our customers, including identifying and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of baked goods and the menu.
  • Supervise the front-of-house while upholding standards of excellence and hospitality.
  • Ensure positive guest service in all areas; respond to guest complaints professionally and take appropriate actions to regain guest satisfaction.
  • Inform the General Manager of foreseeable shortages before items run out.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, cleanliness, and maintenance of dining areas; comply with laws and policies.
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality service.
  • Maintain professional restaurant image, including cleanliness, uniforms, and appearance standards.
  • Develop employees by providing feedback and establishing performance expectations.
  • Take orders from guests and package all retail items and bread orders carefully and efficiently.
  • Run food and drinks to customers promptly.
  • Rotate stock using FIFO method.
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
  • Available to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and holidays.
  • Meet store policies and standards, including beverages/food quality, cash handling, and safety.

Job description

The FOH Supervisor is responsible for how the front-of-house is ran working closely with the General Manager. The ideal team member is dedicated to their fellow team members and to the guests we serve. Our team members must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have a knack for problem solving and most importantly be committed to having the highest quality standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Greeting customers with a smile and happy demeanor; engage with and understand our customers, including identifying and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication
  • Maintain complete knowledge of baked goods and the menu
  • Supervise the front-of-how while upholding our standards of excellence and hospitality
  • Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Respond guests complaints in a professional manner and taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests
  • Inform the General Manager of any foreseeable shortages before items run out.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance dining areas while being compliant with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality service
  • Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards
  • Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback and establishing performance expectations
  • Taking orders from guest and packing all retail items and bread orders carefully and efficiently
  • Running food and drinks to customers in a timely fashion
  • Rotating stock using the FIFO method
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality
  • Available to work flexible hours that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
  • Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security
  • Prepare and package food and beverages to our high-quality standard recipes including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients
  • Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift
  • Additional duties as assigned
