Job summary

Johns Hopkins University at the Peabody Institute seeks a Front of House Coordinator to oversee FOH operations for public and private events in Baltimore and Washington, DC. You will implement ticketing policies, manage online sales, and respond to patrons with a focus on excellent service.

You will hire, train and schedule student ushers, supervise payroll, and maintain FOH policies. This is a full-time role based at Peabody with responsibilities across campus venues.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; one year of professional customer service experience.
• Experience hiring, scheduling and training staff.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience or required education, per policy.

Responsibilities

• Implement ticketing policies and procedures.
• Monitor seat holds and venue capacities across campuses.
• Manage online ticket sales for Baltimore and DC campuses.
• Respond promptly to patron inquiries for all public performances.
• Hire and train student ushers twice a year and create weekly schedules.
• Approve weekly payroll for student ushers.
• Maintain usher handbook and communicate policy updates.
• Oversee public spaces and crowd flow; ensure readiness for events.
• Review event listings for accuracy; manage seating and capacities.
• Attend weekly events meetings and update front of house details.
