Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Peabody Institute is seeking a Stage and Lighting Technician to support over 1,000 annual events, focusing on lighting coordination and stage management for large acoustic ensembles across the Conservatory and Prep program. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Three years related experience required.
  • Additional education/substitution allowed per policy.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage acoustic large ensembles including all setups, rehearsals and final performances.
  • Work with lighting load-ins, strikes and guest lighting designers.
  • Design lighting for small dance, opera, jazz, and MfNM events.
  • Assist other Technicians with A/V, stage setups and weekday management of concerts.
  • Schedule work calls for Peabody's student stage crew.
  • Independently manage student stage crew.
  • Maintain a professional and safe performance environment for students, faculty, staff, patrons, and guests.
  • Co-manage and hire student stage crew annually and assist in training.
