Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a Merchandise Protection Specialist to greet members, assist with purchases, and uphold safety and club standards. You will monitor entrances and exits, perform merchandise protection procedures, and deliver superior member service.

Key duties include inspecting bags, responding to alarms, auditing procedures, and maintaining accurate records. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, basic math, and the ability to use a smart handheld

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail required.
• Basic math skills preferred.
• Ability to use a smart handheld device.
• Must be employed with the company for at least 6 months.
• Age requirements vary by state (18+, 19/21 in certain states).

Responsibilities

• Delivers superior member service, including greeting, assisting, and thanking all members in a prompt, friendly and professional manner.
• Resolves member concerns in a courteous and timely manner and escalates issues to management when necessary.
• Maintains and exhibits clear understanding of merchandise protection procedures and shrink alert protocols.
• Reviews and maintains the AP Alert Binder according to AP standards.
• Follow the BEST procedures including cross-checking merchandise to member receipts and verifying high dollar value items.
• Audits Express Pay, BOPIC, Curbside Pick-up, and Same Day Delivery according to company procedures.
• Ensure the execution of repack awareness guidelines by inspecting known repack articles.
• Monitor member and visitor traffic entering and exiting the club.
• Responds to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms according to established procedures.
• Maintains high standards of safety for members and team members.
• Inspects bags and belongings leaving the building.
• Processes water jug return vouchers.
• Maintains all club policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned and supports cross-department work.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
