Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Head Cashier to lead a fast-paced team and deliver exceptional customer service in a community-focused grocery environment.

As Head Cashier, you will supervise cashiers, assist with operations, schedule breaks, hire and train staff, and ensure accuracy in cash handling and loss prevention. This role requires reliability, friendliness, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age; possess a high school diploma or GED, and 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly demeanor with strong customer interaction and role-model behavior.
• Ability to operate front end equipment: register, calculator, scanner.
• Strong math and cash handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of cashiers and assist with operational issues.
• Provide direction and support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks at registers.
• Assist with potential customer assistance issues at the register.
• Schedule store sweeps, monitor/maintain cash register supply levels and cleanliness in restrooms and parking lots.
• Maintain visibility of exit doors for security and loss prevention.
• Oversee breaks in compliance with policy and state requirements.
• Assist in hiring and training of new Cashiers and disciplinary actions.
