Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Head Cashier to lead a fast-paced team and deliver exceptional customer service in Torrance, CA. You will supervise cashiers, assist with operations, and ensure smooth register activity.

The role requires 18+ years old, a HS diploma or GED, 1-2 years cashiering with leadership training, dependable scheduling including nights/weekends/holidays, and strong communication skills. You will help hire/train cashiers and ensure safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age; possess a high school diploma or GED, and 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training.
• Be dependable with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude; able to interact with customers as a role model.
• Ability to operate front end equipment; register, calculator, scanner.
• Excellent communication; able to take direction and work in a team.
• Must lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move carts up to 50 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of cashiers and assist with operational issues.
• Provide proactive customer service and guidance to cashiers and courtesy clerks.
• Assist with customer assistance issues at the register.
• Manage store sweeps, cash register supplies, and restroom/parking lot cleanliness.
• Maintain security by supervising exit doors and loss prevention.
• Schedule and oversee breaks in compliance with policy and state requirements.
• Participate in hiring and training of new cashiers and disciplinary actions as needed.
