Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies in Prescott, AZ, is seeking a Store Management/Front End Department Leader to deliver an outstanding customer experience, supervise front-end operations, and drive sales, profits, and safety standards. This on-site role requires leadership, scheduling, budgeting, cash handling, and adherence to food safety guidelines while promoting teamwork and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math for daily cash handling and sales accuracy.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle busy periods.
• Experience in retail or customer service environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Second language skills (speaking, reading and/or writing).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Communicate department and job-specific information to associates.
• Collaborate with associates to achieve store goals and teamwork.
• Create welcoming environment and answer customer questions about products.
• Know products well and suggest recommendations to customers.
• Monitor and control supply expenses for the department.
• Manage cash control, sales and cash items for the store.
• Schedule front-end staff to ensure proper coverage.
• Assist management with budget, profit and loss reviews, and actions on financial reports.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve results.
• Oversee entry-level hiring for the department.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Monitor and control department expenses and inventory discrepancies.
• Schedule price changes and signage updates daily, weekly, monthly.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity promptly.
• Oversee and manage efficient front-end operations.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Supervise and coach direct reports and provide performance feedback.
