Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Michigan is seeking a Front-end Associate to deliver outstanding customer experiences by delivering friendly service and maintaining a clean, safe store environment.

You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals, supervise front-end tasks, and help manage scheduling, cash handling, and adherence to safety standards across the department.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Retail or Customer Service experience

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions with recommendations.
• Assist with monitoring and controlling supply expenses for the department.
• Assist with managing cash control, sales, and cash items and records for the store.
• Manage the scheduling of Front-end associates to provide adequate department coverage.
• Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget and profit & loss reviews.
• Assist in creating and executing budgets and labor scheduling in partnership with store management.
• Assist in developing and implementing department action plans to achieve results.
• Collaborate with Front-end staff and promote teamwork.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Enforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and arrange repairs as needed.
• Report safety risks, incidents, or fraud to management.
