Job summary

Kroger is seeking a customer-focused team member to support checkout operations and service excellence in-store. You will greet customers, assist with transactions, and help maintain a safe, clean environment throughout the store.

Ideal candidates have basic math skills, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting while following company policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is required.
• Ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
• Strong communication skills with customers and teammates.
• Knowledge of basic math including counting, addition and subtraction.
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC) per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs) and pricing discrepancies.
• Stay current with ads and carry out safety procedures.
