Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is hiring at the Manhattan, KS location for a Customer Service Associate. You will deliver excellent customer service, process sales at the checkstand, and help maintain store operations with a focus on accuracy and integrity.

You will handle refunds, money orders, and various desk duties, while complying with corporate policies. The role requires a friendly attitude, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• At least 6 months of cashier experience for Customer Service Desk
• Must be 18+ (19+ in certain locations) if tobacco is sold
• Ability to pass drug test
• Fast-paced environment experience
• Weekend shifts, overtime as needed
• Organize and prioritize tasks
• Knowledge of company policies and procedures
• Related retail experience

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage others to provide excellent customer service
• Operate cashier functions: ring sales, open/close register, make money drops
• Maintain price discrepancy logs
• Keep checkstand area clean
• Answer phones and route inquiries
• Follow corporate policies and initiatives
• Verify and deactivate EAS tags at checkout
• Respond to EAS activations and tag removals
• Open/close Customer Service Desk, process refunds and money orders
• Provide lottery service and licenses where allowed
• Support and assist minors, people with special needs, and older adults
• Work in a cooperative, respectful manner and handle conflicts calmly
