Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker for our Colby, KS store. You will greet customers, assist with purchases, and ensure accurate checkout while following store policies and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include processing payments, adhering to cash handling rules, and staying current with weekly ads and promotions to create an outstanding customer experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Experience as a cashier or bagger is preferred but not required, training provided.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, and loyalty offers per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow policies for restricted items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow coupon/gift card procedures.
• Stay informed about ads and promotions; ensure food safety and safety procedures.
• Create a welcoming environment and help customers with product questions.
