Job summary

The Kroger family of Companies in Greensburg, KS is hiring a Cashier/Checker to deliver outstanding customer service at the checkout. You will greet customers, process transactions, and follow policy with accuracy and integrity.

You will work in a fast-paced retail environment, handle cash and other tenders, follow safety and food safety guidelines, and help create a welcoming store atmosphere for all customers, including minors and seniors.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist at the check lane, engaging with customers.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the POS.
• Understand POS and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons per policy.
• Follow cash-handling limits and loss-prevention guidelines.
• Adhere to restrictions on sale of alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay updated with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and notify when maintenance is needed.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer product questions.
• Comply with laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
