Job summary

Kroger in Wellington, KS is hiring for a Customer Service/ Cashier Associate. You will assist customers, operate the register, process payments, and help with refunds, exchanges and services at the Customer Service Desk.

The role requires adaptability in a fast-paced environment, ability to work weekends, and a commitment to company policies and excellent service. Training is provided, with opportunities to grow within Store Operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Six months cashier experience to work at Customer Service Desk
• Must be 18+ (19+ in some locales for tobacco)
• Ability to pass drug test
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work weekends, various shifts, and overtime as needed
• Organize and prioritize tasks; knowledge of store policies and procedures
• Related retail experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and process sales at the checkstand
• Perform cashier functions: open/close register, ring sales, process tender transactions
• Maintain cleanliness of the checkstand area
• Answer telephones and respond to customer inquiries
• Handle price discrepancies and file maintenance for pricing
• Provide lottery, money orders, gift cards, and refunds/exchanges
• Follow company policies and initiatives; support store operations
• Manage conflicts in a cooperative, non-confrontational manner
