Job summary

Kroger Co. in Las Vegas is seeking a customer-focused cashier to support the store’s operations and service standards. You will handle cashiering tasks, assist customers at the service desk, and help maintain the checkstand area and overall store appearance.

Assignable responsibilities include processing refunds and exchanges, issuing money orders, lottery and licenses where allowed, and ensuring compliance with company policies while providing courteous support to customers and colleagues alike.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Six months cashier experience to work at Customer Service Desk.
• Must be 18+ years old (19+ in Idaho/Alaska if tobacco is sold).
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work weekends regularly, any shift, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects.
• Attention to accuracy and detail.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions, including opening/closing register and processing transactions.
• Complete file maintenance log for price discrepancies.
• Maintain cleanliness of checkstand area to standards.
• Answer telephones.
• Comply with corporate policies and initiatives.
• Verify EAS tags are deactivated/removed at the point of sale.
• Respond to EAS pedestal activations as needed.
• Open and close the Customer Service Desk.
• Process refunds, exchanges, money orders, transfers, bill pay, gift cards, and equipment rentals.
• Provide lottery service (except Alaska) and fish/game licenses.
• Send/receive faxes and manage lost and found.
• Run vendor reports and work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
• Handle conflicts calmly and with integrity; follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults when required.
• Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
