Assist customers and process sales while demonstrating the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

1. Deliver and encourage excellent customer service among associates
2. Perform cashier functions: open/close register, ring sales, handle tender transactions, bag merchandise, make money drops, and know produce codes
3. Maintain price discrepancy logs and ensure cleanliness of checkstand area
4. Answer telephones and comply with corporate policies
5. Promote company initiatives and verify electronic article surveillance tags are deactivated or removed at sale
6. Respond to alarm activations and verify tag removal

Store Accounting

• Handle all store accounting functions
• Prepare bank deposits for excess funds

Customer Service Desk

• Open/close desk, process refunds, exchanges, money orders, bill pay, gift cards, and rentals
• Provide lottery and licensing services, manage faxes and lost & found, run vendor reports
• Work cooperatively in high-paced environments and manage conflicts professionally
• Act with honesty and integrity, follow directions, and support vulnerable customers
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations

Qualifications

Minimum

• High school diploma/GED or relevant experience
• Six months cashier experience at a Customer Service Desk
• At least 18 years old (19 in some states for tobacco sales)
• Pass drug test and work in a fast-paced environment
• Availability for weekends, shifts, and overtime
• Organizational and attention to detail skills

Desired

• Knowledge of company policies and retail experience
