Assist customers and process sales. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

1. Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
2. Perform cashier functions, including open/close register, ring sales, complete tender transactions, bag merchandise, make money drops, and knowledge of produce codes
3. Complete file maintenance log for price discrepancies
4. Maintain cleanliness of checkstand area to housekeeping standards
5. Answer telephones; comply with all corporate policies
6. Promote and follow Company initiatives
7. Verify all Electronic Article Surveillance Tags are deactivated or removed from products at the point of sale
8. Respond to Electronic Article Surveillance pedestal activations and verify tag removal as necessary

Store Accounting

1. Maintain all store accounting functions
2. Prepare bank deposits of excess funds (cash and checks)

Customer Service Desk

1. Open and close the desk
2. Process refunds, exchanges, money orders, transfers, bill pay, gift cards, purchase orders, and equipment rentals
3. Provide lottery service (except Alaska) and fish and game licenses
4. Send/receive faxes
5. Administer lost and found
6. Run vendor reports
7. Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
8. Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner
9. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
10. Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
11. Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
12. Perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

Minimum

1. High school diploma or GED; or relevant education and experience
2. Six months cashier experience for Customer Service Desk
3. Minimum 18 years of age (19 in Idaho/Alaska if selling tobacco)
4. Ability to pass drug test
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
6. Availability to work weekends, any shift, and overtime as needed
7. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks/projects
8. Accuracy and attention to detail

Desired

1. Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and organizational structure
2. Related retail experience
