Job summary

The Wildbirch Hotel, a Hyatt Joie de Vivre boutique property in downtown Anchorage, seeks a Front Desk Supervisor to lead the desk team and deliver warm, efficient service.

You will supervise front desk operations, coach agents, resolve guest concerns, manage shift duties, and ensure brand standards. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required; prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of front desk or guest services experience in a hotel.
• Experience with property management systems (Opera or similar a plus).
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills.
• Calm, organized, and dependable under pressure.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise front desk operations during assigned shifts, ensuring accurate, efficient, and friendly check-in, check-out, and guest service.
• Lead, coach, and support Front Desk Agents; assist with training new team members on systems, standards, and procedures.
• Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to management when needed.
• Oversee shift duties including cash handling, balancing, shift reports, and key control.
• Monitor arrivals, departures, room status, and inventory in coordination with Housekeeping and other departments.
• Uphold Hyatt and Joie de Vivre brand standards and hotel policies.
• Help build schedules, monitor attendance, and support a positive, accountable team culture.
• Act as manager on duty when assigned and respond to operational issues or emergencies.
