Job summary

Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center is seeking a Patient Service Representative to assist patients and staff, schedule dental appointments, check in/out patients, verify demographics and insurance, and handle payments.

The role involves managing communications, addressing messages, processing forms, and ensuring HIPAA compliance while delivering service excellence. You will coordinate with dental team and laboratories, maintain scheduling, and support various administrative duties.

Qualifications

• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Operates two EHR systems (Medical and Dental).
• Performs opening and closing procedures.
• Answers multi-line calls and processes inquiries for patient billing, appointments and general questions.
• Schedules, cancels, or reschedules dental appointments and maintains provider schedules.
• Makes confirmation calls to patient appointments and updates financials in both systems.
• Manages check-in/check-out processes and verifies demographics and insurance information.
• Handles payments, co-pays, deductibles and cash reconciliation.
• Ensures HIPAA confidentiality and compliance in all tasks.
