Job summary

Fitness Quest Physical Therapy, part of the Confluent Health family, seeks a Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our Punta Gorda team. You’ll be the first voice and face for patients, delivering a warm, organized experience from the first call through every visit.

No medical background is required; we provide comprehensive training on EMR navigation, scheduling workflows, and phone etiquette. Pay range is $17–$19 per hour, with benefits and a collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of experience in a customer-facing or patient-facing role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at once while staying organized and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable and confident communicating on the phone with patience and professionalism.
• Basic computer proficiency: scheduling software, emails, and spreadsheets.
• No prior medical experience required – comprehensive training provided including EMR navigation and insurance basics.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referral sources.
• Manage front desk operations including patient check-in, check-out, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, and phone calls.
• Review, schedule, and follow up on referrals by gathering information and updating patient records.
• Maintain patient flow by confirming appointments, managing waitlists, handling cancellations, and scheduling future visits.
• Collect copays and balances accurately and professionally with basic payment tracking.
• Protect patient privacy and uphold HIPAA standards in all front desk interactions.
