Job summary

You will handle co-pays, assist with appointment scheduling, and support clinical teams to maintain smooth patient flow throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of customer service experience, preferably in a medical/ophthalmic environment.
• Ability to read and understand an Explanation of Benefits form.
• Knowledge of insurance company processes and how to read insurance documents.
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse personalities.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients upon arrival and ensure a friendly, professional check-in.
• Obtain and update demographic information and copies of insurance cards.
• Enter required data into the practice management system accurately.
• Collect co-pays and explain charges to patients.
• Verify eligibility with payers and review claims as needed.
• Schedule appointments and manage pre-registration requirements.
• Communicate with clinical staff to support timely patient flow.
• Provide translation or bilingual support as needed and approved.
