Job summary

Origin Hotel Kansas City is seeking a friendly Front Desk Agent to welcome guests and provide professional, attentive service at check-in and check-out. The role involves handling payments, reservations, and guest requests while coordinating with hotel departments to ensure a memorable stay.

Position requires strong customer service and communication skills, a polished appearance, and the ability to work weekends and holidays as business needs demand. Prior PMS experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous hotel, hospitality, customer service, or front desk experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to assist guests.
• Professional appearance, communication, and demeanor.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately handle payments and guest accounts.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Comfortable using computers, email, telephone systems, and hotel technology.

Responsibilities

• Check guests in and out accurately, efficiently, and professionally.
• Process payments, deposits, authorizations, and adjustments in accordance with hotel policies.
• Maintain accurate guest accounts and balance assigned cash bank and transactions at the end of each shift.
• Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally and provide accurate hotel information.
• Review arrivals and assist with room pre-assignment, including VIPs, repeat guests, packages, special requests, and accessibility needs.
• Communicate guest requests, maintenance concerns, housekeeping needs, and other operational information to the appropriate departments.
• Assist guests with information regarding hotel amenities, dining options, transportation, local attractions, events, and the surrounding Kansas City area.
