Overview

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for assisting guests with check-in and check-out, handling all phone calls, and managing special requests for services or information, in accordance with standard policies and procedures.

Front Desk Supervisor → Front Desk Manager → Front Office Manager → Operations Manager → Assistant General Manager → General Manager → Area Vice President of Operations

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Keep thorough knowledge of hotel features, services, room rates, promotions, daily house count, arrivals/departures, and group activities.
  • Manage assigned bank and ensure accuracy of funds.
  • Keep bank secure at all times.
  • Answer phone calls within 3 rings using proper etiquette.
  • Process guest check-ins and verify registration details.
  • Handle payments, including cash and credit card transactions.
  • Coordinate with Bell Persons for guest luggage.
  • Manage overbooked or walk-in guests.
  • Record wake-up calls, handle guest faxes, and communicate guest requests to relevant departments.
  • Resolve discrepancies in room status reports and process check-outs and adjustments.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in a similar hotel role.
  • Basic computer skills required.
