Overview

The Front Office Agent provides attentive, courteous, and efficient service to guests during check-in, their stay, and checkout, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy.

Responsibilities
  1. Answer guest inquiries regarding restaurants, transportation, entertainment, etc.
  2. Have hotel experience.
  3. Follow all cash handling and credit policies.
  4. Be aware of all rates, packages, and promotions.
  5. Familiarize with all in-house groups.
  6. Know about closed out and restricted dates.
  7. Gather necessary information for reservations and follow rate-quoting procedures.
  8. Understand hospitality terminology.
  9. Know emergency procedures and assist as needed.
  10. Handle check-ins and checkouts courteously and efficiently.
  11. Use proper radio etiquette when communicating with staff.
  12. Operate all front desk computer systems.
  13. Complete shift duties timely and efficiently.
  14. Perform tasks like bucket checks, rate verification, and housekeeping reports.
  15. Balance and prepare shift paperwork according to hotel standards.
  16. Promote and market guest programs and promotions.
  17. Maintain a clean work area.
  18. Assist guests with safe deposit boxes.
Qualifications
  1. College coursework in related field helpful.
  2. Hotel experience preferred.
  3. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  4. Computer proficiency required.
  5. Customer service experience preferred.
  6. Maintain a friendly demeanor at all times.
  7. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  9. Consistent attendance and professional appearance.
  10. Adherence to hotel standards and regulations.
  11. Problem-solving skills and initiative.
  12. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  13. Cross-training in hotel operations is a plus.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
