Overview

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for assisting guests with check-in and check-out, answering and processing all phone calls, and handling special requests for services or information, in accordance with standard policies and procedures.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Resolve guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests regardless of busyness or time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel features, services, hours of operation, room rates, packages, promotions, daily house count, expected arrivals/departures, and scheduled group activities.
  • Handle cash and ensure bank security.
  • Answer department telephone within 3 rings using proper etiquette.
  • Process guest check-ins and verify registration information.
  • Obtain and input payment information; handle cash transactions.
  • Assist with guest luggage and escort services.
  • Manage overbooked guests and walk-ins.
  • Handle wake-up calls, guest faxes, and communicate guest requests to departments.
  • Resolve discrepancies in room status reports with Housekeeping.
  • Process check-outs, vouchers, paid-outs, and miscellaneous charges.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in a similar hotel role.
  • Basic computer skills required.
