JOB DESCRIPTION - Hotel Desk Agent

Summary/Objective

The hotel desk agent greets and welcomes guests to the establishment and makes them feel comfortable in their environment.

Essential Functions

  1. Greets and welcomes guests.
  2. Assigns rooms and keys (never giving out room numbers aloud).
  3. Maintains room availability.
  4. Handles cash transactions for the hotel.
  5. Prepares bills and collects payments for visits.
  6. Assists in resolving billing discrepancies.
  7. Answers inquiries regarding hotel area and services.
  8. Secures guests' valuables in the safe.
  9. Provides suggestions for places to visit, eat, and shop.
  10. Uses correct brand verbiage when answering phones.
  11. Maintains hotel records.
  12. Ensures the safety of guests' property assets; never opens doors for guests who forgot their keys (redirects them back to the front desk).

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities and reports to the front office manager.

Work Environment
