Position Details

Compensation Type: Hourly

Location: Situated at the end of famed Canal Street, The Westin New Orleans offers stunning views of the Mississippi River and French Quarter, with amenities including 462 rooms, event spaces, a fitness center, and dining options.

Role Overview

The Front Office Agent provides attentive, courteous, and efficient service to guests during check-in, stay, and checkout, aiming to maximize room revenue and occupancy.

Responsibilities
  1. Answer guest inquiries regarding amenities and services.
  2. Follow cash handling and credit policies.
  3. Know all rates, packages, and promotions.
  4. Be familiar with in-house groups and restricted dates.
  5. Gather necessary reservation information and follow rate-quoting procedures.
  6. Understand hospitality terminology and emergency procedures.
  7. Handle check-ins and checkouts courteously and efficiently.
  8. Use radio etiquette and operate front desk systems proficiently.
  9. Complete shift duties and reports accurately.
  10. Maintain a clean work environment and assist with guest safes.
Qualifications
  1. College coursework in a related field is helpful.
  2. Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  3. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  4. Computer skills required.
  5. Customer service experience preferred.
  6. Effective communication and a friendly demeanor are essential.
  7. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain confidentiality.
  8. Maintain high standards of appearance and attendance.
  9. Ability to cross-train and handle problems proactively.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
