Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Dallas, Inc. in Rockwall, TX is seeking an entry-level team member to greet donors, process donations, and support the store team. Duties include receiving items, issuing receipts, and helping customers with lifting donations into vehicles.

The role requires a friendly, professional attitude and basic English skills. The position is full-time with day shifts. Candidates should be able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods, while maintaining a neat appearance

Qualifications

• Knowledge of retail and/or stock handling.

• Ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to react calmly and respond to emergency situations.
• Knowledge of textile articles related to garment classification (gowns, shirts, pants, etc).
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Greet each customer with a courteous, friendly and professional attitude; provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times.
• Politely and professionally receive donations from donors and issue donation receipts for articles donated; assist customers with lifting items in and out of their vehicles.
• Sort donations as they arrive into proper carts or bins and make proper determination as to the quality of donations.
• Sort and price hard goods (miscel).
• Keep the production area clean and safe and other store areas as directed.
• Maintain a well-groomed appearance and appropriate dress code including name badge and vest.
• Provide general information to customers/donors.
• Assist processors when needed.
• Follow Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) procedures and other Public Protection Guidelines.
• React calmly and respond to emergency situations.
• Refer all customer/donor complaints to management in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader.
