Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Associate to manage the Perishable Departments including produce, dairy, meat, bakery, and frozen items. You will assist the Store Manager in inventory control, merchandising, and delivering quality customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead perishables training, ensure food handling compliance, and maintain stock levels while upholding safety and security practices across the store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Prior lead experience and grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of local/state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in ensuring the financial integrity of the store through cash accountability, key control, and cash safety practices.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume using provided tools.
• Train assigned associates in proper presentation, freshness and pricing standards for perishable areas.
• Train assigned associates in proper and safe handling of food per applicable rules and regulations.
• Record Perishable Markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Assist in addressing customers' needs and requests efficiently and timely.
• Ensure sanitation standards and train associates in Perishable departments.
