Job summary

Stop & Shop in Torrington, CT is seeking a highly motivated Perishable Manager to oversee Meat, Seafood, Deli, Florist, Produce, and Bake Shop operations at a busy store. You will drive department performance, sustain safety standards, and coach teams to deliver best-in-class service.

Responsibilities include optimizing sales, managing inventories, and upholding sanitation and regulatory compliance while fostering a diverse, inclusive team culture and strengthening customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in retail grocery is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field (preferred) or equivalent years of work experience.
• Strong ability to influence and communicate effectively across different functions.
• Excellent multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of Meat, Seafood, Deli, Florist, Produce, and Bake Shop
• Ensure departments meet or exceed sales and profit targets
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety, ensuring compliance with all regulations
• Direct, oversee, and evaluate the training of all perishable department team members
• Monitor and evaluate associate performance and ensure development plans
• Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion within the team
• Manage labor relations to ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws
• Address and resolve employee issues and grievances in a timely manner
• Cultivate a culture of excellence in customer service and ensure a well-stocked store
• Coach and provide feedback for efficient operations to better control labor costs
• Implement and oversee action plans to improve department performance
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate stock management
• Ensure all departments comply with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment for all associates
