Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. is hiring a Deli Clerk to join our fast-paced deli team. You will help customers choose healthy options, prepare fresh meals, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation of deli items.

You’ll rotate stock, take special orders and party trays, and operate deli equipment while adhering to safety guidelines. The role requires reliability, flexibility, and excellent communication in a friendly, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience working in grocery, restaurant, or related field; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable
• Outgoing, friendly behavior with the ability to interact with customers
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction and work in a team
• Able to answer phones and take special orders
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. for up to 4 hours
• Stand up to 4 hours per shift
• Perform general housekeeping in the department
• Operate deli equipment and maintain equipment
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; Food Handlers permit
• Work in coolers and freezers
• Other related duties as assigned

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting healthy options and preparing fresh meals
• Ensure deli items are prepared, packaged, presented, and clean
• Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays
• Prepare special orders and party trays
• Operate slicers, ovens, microwaves, scales and other deli equipment
• Keep deli area clean, safe, and sanitary
• Receive, inspect, and log product shipments for quality and temperature
