Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is looking for a Deli Clerk to help customers, prepare fresh meals, and keep the deli area clean and organized. You will operate slicers, ovens, and other deli equipment while following safety guidelines.

We value reliability, friendliness, and teamwork, with a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Prior grocery or food-service experience is helpful, and you must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related field or an acceptable education/experience combination.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with the ability to interact with customers.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to take direction and work in a team environment.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Able to lift/carry up to 70 lbs. and stand for long periods.
• Maintain cleanliness and safe operation of the deli area and equipment.
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory requirements; Food Handlers permit required.
• Be able to work in coolers and freezers.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in making healthy food choices by preparing fresh and easy meals.
• Provide high level of customer service and ensure deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, maintaining cleanliness.
• Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays.
• Prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate deli equipment following company standards and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary deli area and equipment.
• Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality.
