Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Deli Clerk to assist customers, prepare fresh meals, and maintain deli displays in a fast-paced store environment. You will handle special orders, operate deli equipment safely, and ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the department.

The role requires reliability, excellent customer service, and the ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Beneficial to have prior grocery or restaurant experience and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and grocery/restaurant experience or equivalent.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with positive attitude and customer interaction skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills; able to take direction and work in a team.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs., up to 20 ft., for up to 4 hours.
• Stand for up to 4 hours at a time, 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the deli area.
• Operate slicer, wrapping and cooking equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Assisting customers in making healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals”
• Providing high-level customer service and ensuring deli items are prepared, packaged, and presented cleanly
• Filling, maintaining, and rotating products and displays
• Preparing special orders and party trays
• Operating deli equipment following standards
• Maintaining a clean, safe deli area and equipment
• Receiving, inspecting, and logging products for shipment accuracy and quality
• Other duties as assigned.
