Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. seeks a Freight Rail Client Team Leader / Senior Project Manager to lead rail projects and drive business development across a national remote footprint.

You will manage client relationships, oversee multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure high-quality project delivery. You will mentor engineers, coordinate staffing, and contribute to strategic market development in transit and rail sectors while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10+ years of civil engineering design experience with freight rail land development.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to travel for client visits and project work.
• Experience delivering projects for major rail clients (UPRR, BNSF, CPKC, NS).

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate new market opportunities for the team.
• Manage lifecycle client relationships and sell DEA services.
• Lead client contracts and serve as main client contact.
• Act as principal-in-charge or PM and manage project risks.
• Mentor junior engineers and PMs.
• Lead pursuit staffing, decision making, and revenue forecasting.
