David Evans and Associates, Inc. seeks a Freight Rail Client Team Leader / Senior Project Manager to lead strategic rail initiatives across multiple Northwest and Western markets.

This role emphasizes client leadership, complex project delivery, and mentoring junior engineers in a vibrant employee-owned culture. Candidates bring a PE license and 10+ years in civil engineering with freight rail experience, strong communication, travel readiness, and a track record of winning and delivering

Qualifications

• PE license is required and must be active.
• Minimum 10+ years in civil engineering design with freight rail focus.
• Experience with railroad design guidelines and criteria.
• Strong communication and team collaboration abilities.
• Ability to travel for client visits and project work.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Market Development: identify and pursue new rail market opportunities and clients.
• Business Development: manage full lifecycle client relationships across DEA services.
• Client Management: maintain high client satisfaction and lead contract negotiations.
• Project Management: act as principal-in-charge and oversee project delivery and risk.
• Leadership and Mentoring: mentor junior engineers and project managers.
• Team and Resource Leadership: oversee staffing, go/no-go decisions, and forecasts.
