David Evans and Associates, Inc. is seeking a Freight Rail Client Team Leader / Senior Project Manager to lead strategic market development, client management, and project delivery across multiple western locations and remote options.

The role requires a PE license with 10+ years of civil engineering experience focused on freight rail. Excellent communication, leadership, and travel willingness are essential to drive profitable, high‑quality projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum 10 years’ civil engineering design experience with freight rail land development.
• Ability to travel periodically for client visits and project work.
• Experience delivering projects for major rail clients (UPRR, BNSF, CPKC, NS).

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new market opportunities aligned with the team’s strategy.
• Manage full lifecycle client relationships and cross-unit selling.
• Lead client contract negotiations and serve as main client contact.
• Act as principal-in-charge or PM; monitor performance and mentor staff.
• Oversee staffing, budgeting, and revenue forecasting; ensure project quality.
