Job summary

Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) in West Sacramento, CA seeks an experienced Logistics Dispatch Supervisor to streamline freight transportation processes and maximize loads. You will partner with dispatchers and fleet managers to plan shipping operations and develop daily operating plans focused on KPI achievement.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving under pressure, and leadership of up to 75 drivers, with collaboration across scheduling, terminals, and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; degree preferred.
• Logistics dispatch/scheduling experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and logistics application software.
• Ability to solve problems under pressure using independent judgement.
• Strong written and oral communication and teamwork.
• Adaptable to a high-demand environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with dispatchers and fleet managers to plan and carry out shipping operations.
• Develop daily operating plan with emphasis on achieving established department KPI's.
• Evaluate current operating plan and create future plans focusing on payload, on-time deliveries, and loaded mile percentage.
• Engage and collaborate daily with Scheduling Team Leader(s) on opportunities of growth and improvement for KAG assets.
• Assess and adjust current and future operating plans to maximize growth, efficiency and safety.
• Solicit new and existing customers for freight opportunities.
• Update known sourcing as changes occur and revise daily operating plan as necessary to ensure operational efficiency.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively to meet company demands.
• Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, dispatchers, and other departments to ensure a smooth operation.
• Manage day-to-day operations of up to 75 drivers.
• Coordinate maintenance issues/needs with Terminal Managers and Lead Technicians.
