Job summary

XPO is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor to lead and coordinate freight activities, ensuring timely, damage-free processing of customer freight and efficient team supervision. The role requires managing schedules, payroll, and compliance with FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT regulations while driving productivity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of related work experience in warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of LTL industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules.
• Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Distribution or Logistics, or 4 years related work or military experience.
• 2 years of supervisory experience.
• LTL industry experience.
• Strong leadership and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet the department’s evolving demands.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff across operations and act as primary contact for workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals are met by managing tonnage, payroll and administrative functions.
• Plan hourly employee schedules to meet daily operations goals and lower costs.
• Enforce all company, FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies and laws.
• Train employees on safety rules and processes and monitor workplace organization for safety and productivity.
