Job summary

XPO is hiring a Freight Operations Supervisor to lead freight operations, enforcing safety and regulatory compliance while directing a team across shifts. You will plan schedules, optimize procedures, and ensure timely, damage-free freight processing for customers.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics.
• Knowledge of LTL, hazmat regulations, and DOT rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all freight operations
• Develop and implement work procedures to meet department demands
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads
• Supervise hourly staff and address workplace concerns
• Ensure production goals by managing tonnage, payroll, and admin
• Plan employee schedules to meet daily goals and reduce costs
• Enforce policies and ensure regulatory compliance (FMCSR, OSHA, DOT)
• Coordinate safety programs and employee training
• Ensure timely and damage-free customer freight processing and delivery
• Coach employees and conduct evaluations for disciplinary actions
• Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals
• Assist in hiring decisions and terminations
• Develop action plans to improve load averages and model compliance
• Participate in safety and engagement committees
• Inspect tools and equipment for safe operation
• Provide improvement suggestions for shift operations
• Champion XPO values and high standards
• Minimize rehandles by prioritizing direct loading and sector loading
