Job summary

XPO is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor in Chattanooga to lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations, developing procedures to meet evolving departmental demands and ensuring timely, damage-free deliveries. You will evaluate workloads, assign tasks, manage payroll, and plan schedules while enforcing FMCSR, OSHA, DOT policies and safety standards to optimize network performance.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in warehouse, distribution, supply chain or transportation.
• Knowledge of LTL industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules.
• Able to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic procedures to meet department demands.
• Evaluate, manage and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff and act as primary contact for workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals by managing tonnage, payroll, and admin tasks.
• Plan hourly schedules to meet daily ops goals and lower costs.
• Enforce company, FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies.
• Train and coach employees on safety and performance.
• Direct a team to meet productivity goals and advise on hires/terminations.
• Develop action plans to improve load averages and model compliance.
