Job summary

XPO is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor in Nashville to lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations. You will develop and implement procedures to meet evolving departmental demands, evaluate workloads, and supervise hourly staff while ensuring on-time, damage-free delivery.

The role requires knowledge of LTL, hazmat and DOT rules, with availability for varied shifts. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for success at XPO.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in warehouse, distribution, or transportation.
• Knowledge of the LTL industry, hazmat regulations and DOT rules.
• Available to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Preferred: 2 years supervisory experience and strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving needs.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff and act as primary contact for workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals by managing tonnage, payroll and admin tasks.
• Plan hourly schedules to meet daily operations goals and lower costs.
• Enforce FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies and laws.
• Coach and develop employees; conduct new hire evaluations and corrective actions.
• Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals; mentor staff.
• Participate in safety and engagement committees; train on safety rules.
