Job summary

XPO is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor to lead and optimize freight operations, develop procedures, and manage a team across shifts. You will oversee workloads, schedule staff, and ensure safety and customer satisfaction while driving cost efficiencies.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in a warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of LTL, hazmat regulations and DOT rules and regulations.
• Able to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related work or military experience (preferred).
• 2 years of supervisory experience (preferred).
• LTL industry experience (preferred).
• Strong leadership, communication and administrative skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet department needs.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff and address workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals by managing tonnage and payroll.
• Plan hourly schedules to meet daily goals and reduce costs.
• Enforce applicable policies and safety regulations.
• Coach employees on safety, quality and processes.
• Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals.
• Participate in safety and engagement committees.
