Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor in Chattanooga, TN to lead and supervise all freight operations. You will develop procedures to meet changing department needs while managing workloads and directing hourly staff to ensure timely, damage-free shipments.

This role requires knowledge of LTL, hazmat and DOT rules, plus flexibility to work varied shifts. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Transportation/Logistics or equivalent experience with 2 years of supervisory

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of LTL industry, hazmat regulations and DOT rules and regulations.
• Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving department demands.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff and act as primary contact for workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals are met by managing tonnage, payroll and admin functions.
• Plan hourly employee schedules to meet daily operations goals and lower costs.
• Enforce FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies and laws.
• Coach and develop employees on proper techniques and quality requirements.
